Regarding his study group videos, I would watch them on downtimes when I’m washing dishes, doing laundry, stretching in the morning, etc. He had really helpful charts about standards and engaging animations on how technologies worked. I liked how he followed the exam objectives which made it easy to refer back to fill in knowledge gaps later on. Professor Messer’s videos are concise and straight to the point. I also took notes while watching the videos. Professor Messer Learning Playlist + Study Groups - Realizing I spent a lot of time studying for Meyers, I decided to speed run Messer’s videos (playing at 1.5x speed). Total time spent: 28 days, 54 hrs, 2 hrs/day. Although, I could’ve finished his course faster by speeding it up by 1.25x or 1.5x. Lastly, some of the exam terms were not covered when I looked back at the objectives :( Enjoyable course overall. His course did not follow the official exam objectives by CompTIA, which made it hard for me to check off things that were covered. After every section there were short quizzes. He spoke a lot from experience and did a lot of demonstrations and had equipment on hand to show what they look like. He explained things in a very simple manner which made it easy to follow along. I am a visual learner and I found his videos engaging and entertaining. Mike Meyers Udemy Course - I took notes while watching videos. Multiple choice took about an hour, so I had 30 minutes to answer the PBQs, and spent the last 10 minutes reviewing flagged questions. I also used the whiteboard for subnetting. Some questions were straightforward, but for me it was troubleshooting and picking multiple answers in one question (select two, three, etc.) that were challenging. First half of the exam I didn’t feel confident with the answers but I started to pick up with some simpler questions like protocols and port numbers. She released the exam, and I was assigned another proctor who was there to answer chat questions. Had a quick audio call and she told me to close the window blinds in front of the window I was facing.
